Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas
:
Provides nursing care to paediatric patients.
Assesses patients and implements appropriate nursing care plans.
Administers prescribed medicines and treatments and monitors patients' responses.
Monitors vital signs, growth and other clinical parameters and reports abnormalities.
Provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to paediatric patients.
Assists in emergency care and resuscitation of critically ill children.
Provides health education and counselling to parents, guardians and caregivers.
Participates in clinical rounds and multidisciplinary patient management.
Observes infection prevention and control measures in the Paediatric Unit.
Assists in maintaining and accounting for paediatric equipment, supplies and medicines.
Participates in continuous professional development and quality improvement activities.
Supervises and guides nursing students and support staff as assigned.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing records and reports.
