Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas
:
Assesses patients and implements appropriate nursing care plans.
Administers prescribed medicines and treatments and monitors patients' responses.
Monitors vital signs, growth and other clinical parameters and reports abnormalities.
Provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to paediatric patients.
Provides health education and counselling to parents, guardians and caregivers.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing records and reports.
Provides specialized nursing care to paediatric patients.
Participates in emergency care and resuscitation of critically ill children.
Participates in multidisciplinary clinical rounds and patient management.
Ensures infection prevention and control measures are observed in the Paediatric Unit.
Supervises, mentors and guides junior nursing staff and students.
Participates in clinical audits, quality improvement and continuous professional development.
Maintains and accounts for paediatric nursing equipment, supplies and medicines.
