Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas
:
Participates in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, machinery and systems.
Carries out preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment and installations.
Inspects mechanical equipment and identifies faults and recommends appropriate remedial action.
Participates in the servicing and repair of medical and non-medical mechanical equipment.
Assists in the installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems.
Participates in the maintenance and repair of boilers, pumps, generators, lifts, air-conditioning systems and other mechanical installations, where applicable.
Monitors the performance and condition of mechanical equipment and recommends replacement or repair where necessary.
Assists in preparing technical specifications, cost estimates and bills of quantities for mechanical works.
Maintains records of mechanical equipment, maintenance schedules, repairs and servicing.
Participates in inspection of mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved specifications and standards.
Ensures observance of occupational health and safety requirements in mechanical engineering activities.
Prepares and submits periodic reports on mechanical engineering activities.
Provides technical guidance on the proper operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
