Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas
:
Supervise and train intern Doctors.
Run specialized Neonatology Clinics.
Manage and supervise ward rounds.
Supervise and train Medical Officers Special Grade, Medical Officers and other Health Professionals under him/her.
Provide technical and professional advice to Government or the Institution in Neonatology.
Teach Postgraduate and Undergraduate Medical Students as well as other Health Students.
Develop departmental work plans, budgets and reports.
Coordinate and manage a referral system for patients at the National level.
Ensure that discipline and the ethical code of conduct are observed by staff under him/her.
Plan, coordinate and conduct research in Neonatology.
Plan and coordinate Continuing Medical Education (CME) in Neonatology for Health Professionals at the Hospital and the Hospital’s catchment area.
Provide technical guidance on specifications for procurement of equipment, drugs and other logistics required for Neonatology services.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
