  • Proven record of research and publications in peer review journal(s) will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable qualities of leadership and integrity.
  • Demonstrable ability to coach, mentor and develop staff.
  • Coordinates collection, analysis and interpretation of public health data for evidence-based decision-making.
  • Participates in development, review and implementation of public health policies, guidelines, standards and protocols.
  • Provides technical guidance on public health requirements for procurement of equipment, supplies and other logistics.
  • Participates in quality improvement, programme reviews and performance assessments.
  • Compiles and submits periodic public health reports
  • Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Provides senior technical and professional leadership in public health services.
  • Plans, coordinates and supervises implementation of public health programmes and interventions.
  • Provides technical guidance on disease prevention, health promotion and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
  • Coordinates disease surveillance, outbreak preparedness, investigation and response activities.
  • Provides technical guidance on environmental health, sanitation, hygiene and occupational health matters.
  • Coordinates implementation of community health and health promotion interventions.
  • Provides technical and professional advice to Government and the institution on public health matters.
  • Supervises, coaches, mentors, appraises and trains public health professionals and other health workers under his/her supervision.
  • Plans and coordinates training and continuing professional development programmes in public health.
  • Plans, coordinates and conducts public health research and operational research.
  • Provides technical guidance in health planning, programme monitoring and evaluation.
