Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas
:
Conduct advanced laboratory analyses.
Supervise laboratory activities and ensure effective operation of the laboratory
Prepare operational plans, budgets and performance reports.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory services.
Manage laboratory equipment, materials and supplies.
Provide technical support to disease surveillance programmes and activities.
Coordinate and supervise implementation of laboratory bio-safety and bio-security measures.
Supervise laboratory quality assurance systems and ensure compliance with approved standards.
Coordinate laboratory operations and ensure efficient provision of laboratory services.
Supervise, train and mentor students and health workers.
Enforce adherence to the professional code of conduct and ethics.
Supervise, mentor and appraise staff under his/her supervision.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
