Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas
:
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Assess patients and prepare them for anaesthesia and surgical procedures.
Administer and monitor anaesthesia in accordance with approved procedures and professional standards.
Monitor patients before, during and after anaesthesia.
Participate in the management of anaesthetic emergencies and resuscitation.
Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient management.
Operate and ensure proper functioning of anaesthetic equipment.
Maintain proper records of anaesthetic procedures and patient care.
Participate in infection prevention and control activities.
Participate in quality assurance, clinical audits and quality improvement activities.
Participate in research and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Participate in training and mentorship of students and other health workers.
Participate in procurement, proper utilisation and accountability of anaesthetic medicines, supplies and equipment.
Participate in outreach and health education activities.
Observe professional ethics, confidentiality and the Code of Conduct.
Prepare and submit reports on anaesthetic activities.
