  • Applicants should have demonstrable qualities of leadership and integrity.
  • Manage and account for allocated resources.
  • Compile and submit periodic reports.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
  • Diagnose, treat and manage patients with eye diseases.
  • Refer complicated cases to Medical Officer Special Grade (Ophthalmology).
  • Ensure protection of patients, relatives and staff.
  • Carry out community sensitization about eye health care.
  • Initiate and participate in research activities.
  • Impart knowledge and skills to staff and students.
  • Promote observance of the Professional Codes of Conduct and Ethics by staff under him/her.
  • Participate in planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluating ophthalmic clinical activities
